We could name the Sporades Islands as the ?Greek Corsica?, because of its green scenery with beautiful sandy beaches. Located at the North East of Evia and Attica, the beaches have still their natural beauty with the clearest waters of Greece. Amongst the eleven islands, 3 of them are important: Skopelos, Alonissos and Skiathos. Skopelos, is a mountainous island with villages constructed around the coast into small ports and sandy beaches equipped for water sports. The main city, built as an amphitheatre with Venetian houses, has a lot of charm. More popular with beautiful natural scenery is Skiathos, which has dense vegetation in the west and some splendid properties in the east. Alonissos will be wonderful for amateurs of scuba diving with its transparent waters with protected sea life and maritime caves. Beautiful unspoilt beaches are surrounded by a pine forest and there are protected by a foundation tp protect the seacoast. Some of them are only reachable by boat.
