Welcome to the Dodecanese Islands...The Dodecanese, meaning « twelve islands », is the archipelago located at the south west of the Aegean Sea and is the farthest from Europe. The Dodecanese is renowned thanks to its islands: Rhodes, Patmos and Kos. Rhodes, sunny all year round is one of the most preferred destinations of Greece. Its medieval city, still conserved, shows the historical power during the centuries passed like the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the World located at the entrance of the port of Rhodes. Patmos is especially known for its monastery, which overlooks the city of Chora. It is the Christian island where Jean wrote the Apocalypse. Patmos also offers very beautiful sandy beaches. There are just a few villas with swimming pools because of the legislation of the island. Finally, Kos, homeland of Hippocrates, has become a nice resort with its picturesque villages and roads with palm trees. There is also to discover the Antiquity centre, the Asclépieion and the knight's castle.
